Description
The Warchal Avantgarde Violin A String is a further development of the Russian style A string. This version brings together the helical design of the Amber E string and the advanced metal core research from the the Russian A, to offer another solution to those players with instruments that don’t work very well with synthetic or gut A strings. This string will also help with the problem in that the E string cannot be made out of synthetic material and there is always some kind of ‘break’ in sound between the synthetic A and metal E when playing. This is at present unavoidable but the Russian school of thought preferred to move the ‘break’ between the D and A by using a metal A string.
The Warchal Avantgarde A string goes a step further by introducing the helical design seen on the Amber E, but applying the helix to the whole string so that there is a slight ‘wave’ all the way along the string and you might need to spend a bit of time getting used to the difference in feel.
The sound is exceptionally warm and with a really fast response, much closer to a good synthetic string in tone but with the robust nature of a quality metal string. Give this a try and please leave a review letting me know how you got on with it!
This metal A string is wound with stainless steel and is available with a ball or loop end. Full size only.
