Description
The Warchal Russian Style Violin A String is a unique creation that addresses the one of the inherent problem of using a metal E with an otherwise fully synthetic set of strings. The problem is that the E string cannot be made out of synthetic material and there is always some kind of ‘break’ in sound between the synthetic A and metal E when playing. This is at present unavoidable but the Russian school of thought preferred to move the ‘break’ between the D and A by using a metal A string.
Warchal have put many hours of research into developing a similar concept. Their Russian Style A string manages to combine a warm sound with fast response and the ability to take very heavy bowing. The change from the A string to the E string is smooth and with no sudden changes in timbre, yet the A string retains the desirable qualities of a synthetic core string of warmth and good playability.
It has also been noticed that some violins just do not work well with any kind of gut or synthetic A string and actually need a metal core to achieve their best. This string again will help in these cases where the player doesn’t want to switch to an entirely metal set of strings.
This metal A string is available with a ball or loop end.
